If the City of Bellaire already expects a deficit with incoming revenue (property taxes), why doesn’t the city cut expenses instead of wanting to always raise taxes? If th
e City knows it is heavily dependent on property taxes and knows that they are declining, due to lower HCAD values, why not plan for the loss and reduce spending.
The city’s solution is to RAISE TAXES and to spend money on a fee study to review the fees the city charges on things like the pool and permits.
Now is the time to ELECT a BUSINESSMAN that understands when you don’t have money coming in, you STOP SPENDING! Do we really need anymore LAWYERS on City Council?
